“We firmly declare that Belarus will not place weapons of this class on its territory. From 500 to 5000. We invite other countries to join this. I told our partners that this would be a good contribution to strengthening the security of our region,” Zas said.

According to him, the same issue will be discussed next week during the visit of Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev to Belarus.

“Warsaw understands that we are Russia’s ally and partner. This has been taken into account throughout this discussion. In no case did this meeting have the character of intrigue. Like, let's be friends against someone. We don’t agree to this,” Zas assured.

He assured that all military exercises planned to take place on Russian territory with the participation of Belarus will take place. At the same time, Zas believes that it is in Belarusian interests to “develop relations with this bloc and reach at least the level that Russia has with NATO.”

Today, Acting Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy said that the United States expects to deploy new precision strike missiles (PrSM) by the early 2020s, as well as hypersonic missiles with ballistic warheads, which were previously prohibited by the Russian-American Missile Elimination Treaty medium and shorter range.
