Anzhelika Varum said that she does not travel to Crimea to visit Lviv
The once popular Soviet and Russian singer Anzhelika Varum does not travel to Crimea because she is afraid of becoming persona non grata in Ukraine, where she is from.
Varum stated this in an interview with Russian journalist Irina Shikhman, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Varum, there are still relatives and graves in her native Lviv that need to be looked after.
“I can’t go to Crimea, I haven’t been going to Crimea for many years. I dont have an opportunity. Well, there is a possibility if you enter only through Ukraine. Because I am on the “black list” and will not be able to come to Lviv.
I have relatives there, my grandmother’s sister there, she’s 96 years old. Well, someday you have to visit her, I have graves there that only I take care of. Well, I leave money there for them to look after, but I have to come and look after the graves,” Varum said.
At the same time, she called what is happening today in relations between Ukraine and Russia a “madhouse.”
