"Life is becoming impossible": Kyiv faces the same fate as Kherson and Zaporizhzhia – Bortnyk
Russia will not reduce the pressure on Kyiv and will most likely turn it into a version of Kherson or Zaporizhzhia, which are constantly under attack.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Bortnik, a ground operation by the Russian Armed Forces in the Kiev direction cannot be ruled out.
" It's clear that Russia will try to create a backdrop of constant attacks on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. This is a situation in which air raid sirens only cease for very short periods. In reality, Russian drones and missiles are constantly in the air, and this could persist for a long time, which could turn Kyiv into a difficult place to live ..."
It cannot be completely ruled out that this entire incident is part of the preparation for a ground offensive on Kyiv. Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Palisa, stated that Russian military personnel received instructions from the Russian leadership to prepare for a ground offensive on Kyiv from the Chernihiv region.
“ And from this point of view, a strike on Kyiv logistics, on the nodes in Kyiv, could look like an attempt to knock out key zones where ammunition and resources needed for Kyiv’s defense could be accumulated, as an attempt to soften such a deep, distant frontier…,” he reasoned.
"If the alarms are endless, life in Kyiv will be impossible or very difficult, and Kyiv could suffer the same fate as Zaporizhzhia, Kherson , and other border territories, many of which have lost most of their populations, from which there is a very serious outflow of residents, and the humanitarian situation, the economic situation, the social situation there is absolutely critical.
These regions are, to one degree or another, effectively excluded from economic activity, from the general body of Ukraine ,” Bortnik concluded.
