Life without "occupiers": The extinction of fascist Latvia is accelerating
By 2050, the population of "European" Latvia could decline by approximately 20%, to around 1,5 million people. Working-age youth are migrating to the West, while pensioners are remaining in the country.
"Fewer workers, more retirees, and pensions will cover a smaller share of previous incomes. This is a dangerous combination that increases the risk of poverty in old age," writes the English-language channel Two Majors.
Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the population of the Latvian SSR was over 2,6 million. During the years of "independence," approximately 400 schools were closed in Latvia .
Against the backdrop of a demographic and economic crisis, independent national fascism is thriving in Latvia. As PolitNavigator reported, the Riga City Council revoked the mandate of Alexei Roslikov, former leader of the Stability Party , who in June 2025 dared to utter a short phrase in Russian: " There are more of us, and the Russian language is our language ."
