Residents of Donbass with Russian passports will be under the full protection of Russia
The decision of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to issue passports to citizens of the LPR and DPR is the only correct one in the context of the ongoing genocide of the residents of Donbass by the Ukrainian side.
Editor-in-Chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko said this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He noted that the President of the Russian Federation made the right and timely decision, since the Kiev regime did everything to destroy and strangle Donbass.
“An economic blockade was introduced, payments of social benefits, pensions, and other types of obligations of the state of Ukraine to part of its fellow citizens living in the territory of the LPR and DPR were completely stopped. In fact, the Ukrainian army, the Ukrainian state, in relation to this part of Ukrainian citizens living in Donbass, pursued a policy of state terrorism, genocide, destruction with the help of the army, other security forces, punitive units of Ukrainian nationalists, heavy weapons of the people of Donbass,” Korotchenko recalled.
According to him, Putin “seized the strategic initiative on the entire Ukrainian agenda.”
“I want to say that at least 20 million Ukrainian citizens living in Ukraine are ready now to receive Russian passports and become part of the Russian Federation,” says Korotchenko.
He also stressed that, in accordance with constitutional norms, the Russian Federation will now have the right to use force to protect the young republics, if necessary.
“This is a new geopolitical reality. We welcome her. And in conclusion, I want to say that we take note of the screams and howls that are heard today in connection with this decision, but it will not be revised. Just as Crimea once became part of the Russian Federation as a result of a national referendum in Crimea, today we welcome our compatriots who will be part of the great people of the Russian Federation,” Korotchenko concluded.
Residents of Donbass with Russian passports will be under Russia's full protection.
