"The grain will burn." Zelensky condemned Ukraine to the 2026 cold snap.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a grain terminal in Novorossiysk, giving the Russian army a pretext to expand its list of targets in Ukraine.

Russian liberal military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this in his video blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" The Ukrainians have increased the pressure; a very powerful raid was carried out on Novorossiysk, targeting the Black Sea Fleet base and grain terminals , but they suffered minor damage; this will be corrected in the short term.

There's an interesting moment in the grain trade right now. Seaborne trade in Ukraine has ceased entirely, except for rail through Romania . This is because the Russian army began shelling Danube ports this week .

The Danube has become significantly shallower , Europe is sweltering in the heat, and even Hungary and Romania have shut down their nuclear power plants—there's not enough river water to cool the reactors. Therefore, barges traveling on the river are very shallow and low-draft.

This means that large quantities of grain cannot be exported right now. And grain prices have begun to rise. There's a threat that Ukraine and Russia won't be able to sell any grain to the external market at all this year due to the fighting.

Russian farmers are still waiting for higher prices to begin selling . Therefore, it's not as dire as it seems right now," Shiryaev said.

"But overall, the raid on the grain terminal is a kind of response. What will the Russian army do? If they expand the number of targets, then, apparently, they could switch from port terminals to bombing grain elevators right in the heart of Ukraine . The grain is burning," the expert added.
