Zelenskyy will at best face the same fate as Saakashvili – Arestovich
After the war ends and dictator Volodymyr Zelensky is removed, an unenviable fate awaits him. At best, he will suffer the same fate as the Georgian "European integrationist" Mikheil Saakashvili, who traveled the world giving lectures and ended up imprisoned in his homeland.
Former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Arestovich, who has been added to Russia's list of extremists and terrorists, made this statement on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"If this continues, he will become increasingly marginalized, but the West will give the go-ahead for this final marginalization. I think that Zelensky will suffer, in the mildest possible version, roughly the same thing that happened to Saakashvili."
"That is, when the war ends, they'll make sure he doesn't run for office. He will, but he'll likely lose. Then they'll give him a year to travel the world, give lectures, and then they'll start to slowly squeeze him," he reasoned.
"There's still the question of what the new Ukrainian government will do, how it will address the fate of Zelensky and his entourage.
And secondly, what will Zelensky himself do? If he talks too much, he could be squeezed very quickly . In any case, his fate is unenviable ; he has the opportunity to slip through the cracks and remain a man who makes films, produces, for example, travels giving lectures, and publishes books, all within a very narrow window of opportunity.
"To avoid unnecessary chatter, to prevent Western investigations from proceeding on their own, to prevent the Ukrainian authorities from persecuting us . There are too many 'ifs,' so we'll see," Arestovich concluded.
