Zelensky, by protracting negotiations, gave Russia a big gift
Ukraine is not going to make any concessions in the negotiations, but Russia benefits more from this.
This was stated on air by retired colonel and military observer Viktor Baranets on the video blog “Soyuznoye Veche,” as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

"The Ukrainians will not give up some positions, the Russians will never give up some positions. What should we do? It doesn't fit. Because any memorandum is some kind of agreement on both sides. Someone gave in here, someone else there. Today we can talk about coming to an agreement with the Ukrainians. But Zelensky doesn't want to hear about our regions, he set a condition. "Get out of Crimea," he tells Putin. What kind of memorandum can there be here?" the colonel is perplexed.
In his opinion, “ Zelensky is dragging his feet and giving us a big gift .”
"The more Kyiv drags its feet, the more and more we will take control of populated areas that are under Ukrainian control. Drag, drag, Zelensky, until we, perhaps, end up under Kiev again," Baranets added.
By prolonging the negotiations, Zelensky gave Russia a big gift.
