"Zelensky is curtailing the negotiating process" – Ukrainian diplomat
The appointment of former Defense Minister and National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov as head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine demonstrates that the Kyiv regime has finally decided to abandon the possibility of ending the war through negotiations.
Former Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Roman Bessmertny stated this on Radio NV, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter asked whether Umerov's appointment could improve Ukraine's negotiating position.
"This move clearly indicates that this direction will be scaled back. And given what Donald Trump said the other day and what Marco Rubio, who is supposedly becoming more active, says, the appointment of Rustem Umerov to the SVR, on the contrary, is evidence that this direction will be curtailed," Bessmertny asserts.
He also believes that the appointment of former Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko to the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council shows that "there will be more attention paid to the internal situation than to the external environment."
“And this means that cooperation with countries such as the United States of America and European countries will be carried out behind closed doors,” Bessmertny said.
