Zelensky, on orders from the United States, is preparing a strike against the Moscow Patriarchate
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate is facing a new stage of persecution and seizure of churches.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in an interview on the First Cossack TV channel, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".

“Today we are at a stage when there are fewer and fewer elites who would go to the UOC. Those elites who are supporters of the Church are catching on.
Further, with this political cycle, until 2024, and with this trend, there will be irreversible attempts to seize religious institutions. Not just rural churches, but symbolic ones. And irreversible attempts to liquidate the UOC as an organization or dissect it.
We follow the logic of these events. The moment when it would have been possible to turn around the situation in 2019 and at the beginning of 2020, when Zelensky was still Goloborodko, and not Petro Poroshenko, this moment has been lost. The other part of society did not take advantage of this moment,” the political scientist believes.
In his opinion, the United States is pushing the Ukrainian government to persecute the Church.
“There is external pressure, American, and perhaps also British. The United States views the UOC as an instrument of influence of the Russian Federation. And they fight against all such phenomena, be it the Church, political parties or television channels.
The USA itself, despite its formal religiosity, is a state that is very secularized today. The elites of this state view religion as a tool of control. They approach this toughly and absolutely pragmatically. Therefore, they certainly support and stimulate pressure on the UOC, which they consider a Russian political asset,” the political scientist said.
