Zelensky won't give up Donbass: We managed to process Trump before Alaska – Irish professor
The Zelensky government will never agree to recognize new Russian territories and withdraw from Donbass.
Dublin University professor Scott Lucas stated this in an interview with Times Radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There are certain red lines: the Zelensky government will not accept the legal recognition of Crimea and the east as Russian territory. This will not be a division of Ukraine in the legal sense.
Secondly, we're talking about the current front lines. We have no intention of withdrawing from the rest of the Donetsk region. This isn't just a matter of pride. This region is located in the northern Donbas. It's a major industrial area, important and well-fortified. We can't give it to Russia ," Lucas said.
"Russia will be able to use this as a springboard for further offensive. European leaders, when they spoke to Trump last Wednesday, discussed this and said that this will open the way for Russia to Kyiv.
They can use this for another quick invasion , even quicker than in February 2022. And this shocked Trump,” he insisted.
