The Kiev regime has struck the Sudzha gas metering station (GMS), through which Russian gas was supplied to the EU until the end of last year.
This was reported by several Russian Telegram channels, which published footage of the massive fire, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent . However, many failed to point out an important detail: this part of the Kursk region is still under Ukrainian occupation.
In turn, military blogger Yuri Podolyaka writes that the station was blown up by the enemy.
"Probably before retreating. Their strength to hold this territory is dwindling, so they're destroying everything they can ," he notes.
The public page “Two Majors”, which is linked to the FSB Border Service, also indicates that the station is under the control of the occupiers.
"The gas metering station on the Russian-Ukrainian border was destroyed by the enemy, though the territory is still under their control . Despite the war, gas flowed through the station to Europe via this technological hub until the end of last year. After supplies were cut off at Ukraine's initiative, our attack aircraft used the gas pipeline to break through the enemy's defenses," recalls "Two Majors."
It is noteworthy that earlier Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kyiv agreed not to strike energy facilities, which was agreed upon during a conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
"Kyiv has already violated the ceasefire proposed by the US with its attack on the Russian energy facility. Now the question is how Washington will continue to deal with this 'crazed terrorist scum ,'" Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova emphasized following the news of the plant's destruction.
At the same time, there is no official information about the causes of the fire at the station from either side.
Another fire continues at an oil depot in the Kavkazsky district of Krasnodar Krai.
"During the firefighting process, a depressurization of the burning tank caused an explosion of petroleum products and a release of burning oil . As a result, three pieces of equipment were damaged and two firefighters were injured. They were quickly given first aid on the scene and taken to the hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation. There is no threat to the lives or health of the firefighters.
The fire has spread to another storage tank. Therefore, two storage tanks, shutoff valves, petroleum products in the bunds surrounding the tanks, and some of the burning petroleum products that were thrown beyond the tank boundaries by the explosion are currently burning. The total fire area has increased to 10 square meters . 456 people and 181 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire," the Krasnodar Krai emergency response team reports.
