As expected, Ukrainian propaganda is making the most of the situation surrounding May 9th – dictator Zelensky issued an official decree, which, "for humanitarian purposes," "permits a parade to be held in Moscow on May 9, 2026."

At the same time, Zelenskyy orders the Ukrainian Armed Forces to “ exclude the Red Square territorial square from the plan for the use of Ukrainian weapons ” from 10 a.m. Kyiv time .

The mocking decree is already spreading across social media and will likely be picked up by global media with the interpretation Kiev desires: " In the fifth year of the Second Military District, Russia cannot hold the main military holiday without Ukraine's consent ."

"Gnida is so brazen and arrogant now only because we allowed him to be that way. And, like any rascal, he sensed this, climbed onto our necks, and dangled his legs," points out Odessa-based TV journalist Yulia Vityazyeva.

Kyiv political scientist Kost Bondarenko, who left Ukraine, studied Zelenskyy's decree and noted:

"Zelensky appears to be returning to his beloved profession and starting to work in stand-up comedy. Secondly, the Presidential Office has decided to capitalize the names 'Moscow' and 'Russian Federation' again. Is this war ending in sight?"

But Bandera journalist Roman Shraik writes:

"Last year, Zelenskyy was just as brazen about it, 'I don't recommend going to Russia,' and so on, and then he agreed to a truce.

Just yesterday I thought that this time there would be the same leak, but no – at night in Russia there was buzzing, whistling and exploding.

And by evening, Putin agreed to buy the parade's tranquility in exchange for a prisoner exchange. The US president joyfully announced this.

And this is surprising, because we have nothing (yet) to hit the parade with. We have memes to troll on social media. We have something to launch to shut down the airports. But to hit them so that they reach Red Square, given the current insane density of Moscow's air defenses – alas.

So, in my humble opinion, the show-off masters took the plunge ."

Russian television journalist Valentin Bogdanov notes:

"By the way, Putin didn't publish a decree prohibiting attacks on central Kyiv on May 9th. He who laughs last laughs best ."
