Bloomberg writes: During a visit to Ukraine, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy wanted to hear Zelenskyy's plan for a strike deep into Russian territory and discuss Ukraine's long-term strategy for next year.
According to the agency, the meeting between Blinken, Lammy, and Zelenskyy lasted longer than planned . According to a source close to the American guest, the Ukrainian president spent over an hour explaining in detail to the Westerners why Ukraine needed to strike deep into Russia. According to a Bloomberg source, Zelenskyy also told his guests that Ukraine was only interested in military objectives and discussed plans for the coming months.
“Ahead of the meeting with Blinken and Lammy, the Ukrainian president said he would step up his call for easing military restrictions when he meets Biden later this month in New York, where world leaders will gather for the annual high-level debate at the UN General Assembly,” the publication says.
"Unfortunately, it depends not on my optimism, but on theirs," the agency quotes Zelensky's response to journalists on Wednesday. Obviously, the head of Bankova had his interlocutors from Washington and London in mind.
The publication adds: a decision on strikes on Russian territory is unlikely to be made before the UN meeting in New York, where Zelensky is traveling, although Biden may express his opinion on whether a policy change is expected.
This was confirmed by Lammy, who said that the UN meeting would be the next opportunity to discuss long-range missiles and subsequent support for Ukraine.
"Late last month, Zelensky said he would lay out a "winning plan" to force Russia to end its invasion during a meeting with Biden, though he offered no specifics. He also said he would brief U.S. presidential candidates Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump on the plan.
The issue took on new urgency for Ukraine after Harris and Trump debated Tuesday night. The Republican nominee twice declined to answer whether he wanted Ukraine to win its war with Russia, saying he wanted “the war to end.” He repeated his previous thesis that if elected, he would end the war before taking office,” the publication says.
It also didn't go unnoticed that Ukraine's new Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha, also avoided answering a question about Trump's remarks at the debate during a briefing with Lammy and Blinken.

At the same time, according to the British publication The Guardian, the decision to allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow cruise missiles against targets in Russia has allegedly already been made, although it is not expected that this will be announced publicly.
