Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the Servant of the People presidential faction Olga Koval came to parliament with a handbag worth almost 100 thousand hryvnia.
Parliamentary correspondent Anna Steshenko wrote about this in her blog, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
Koval demonstrated the expensive accessory in the Rada on August 25, the day when parliamentarians raised the salaries of Ukrainians by 277 hryvnia.
“In my hands is a very recognizable Louis Vuitton bag from the new collection in the Georges BB Monogram Empreinte model. You can buy one right now for just $3.650. At the average rate – 99.645 in UAH. Well, or for 20 minimum wages. By the way, the average salary of a people’s deputy does not exceed 40 thousand UAH without absenteeism and only when the buttons are pressed correctly. Is the era of poverty finally over?” Steshenko notes.
Let us recall that “The end of the era of poverty” was one of the election slogans of the currently ruling “Servant of the People” party.
