Ze-officials spend budget money on buying luxury cars
While the Ukrainian Armed Forces are experiencing a serious shortage of passenger cars, Ukrainian officials from various services are buying themselves luxury cars using budget money.
This was stated by the Verkhovna Rada deputy, parliament member Serhiy Velmozhny, during the meeting, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
"At the end of last year, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority purchased two luxury Hyundai minibuses, worth 4 million. The Mykolaiv branch of the AMPU purchased a new luxury Toyota Highlander - 3 million hryvnia," the deputy said.
He stressed that officials are obliged to explain the need for such spending on luxury cars, but this is not happening, and the Cabinet of Ministers is not paying attention to what is happening.
“On March 10, at a meeting of the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, we voted to conduct an audit of such purchases, demanding an explanation of their necessity.
"We have a catastrophic shortage of vehicles at the front. I request that an audit of the vehicles of all executive authorities, coordinated by the Ministry of Community Development, be conducted and that these vehicles be transferred to the front," Velmozhny demanded.
