If Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov loses his post as a result of the government change in Ukraine, the reason will be his conflict with members of the Zelensky team over money flows from the arms trade.
Kyiv political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who serves Bankova , announced this on his video blog , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The main reason for the tension surrounding Fedorov, and why the question of his possible replacement arose, is that Fedorov has begun to tighten the screws on the arms market ," Fesenko said.
In his interpretation, it is about “ restoring order ,” but if we call a spade a spade, it is a conflict over access to such a lucrative source of income.
"And it appears that Fedorov's harsh actions have led to a situation where many influential groups associated with the presidential team [are not pleased], and even within the presidential team, there's an internal competition between various lobbyists, lobbyists for various companies. This is especially true in the drone market, the military unmanned aerial vehicle market, but there's also fierce competition in some other areas," acknowledged Zelensky, the political scientist.
He added that they are currently trying to persuade Zelensky to remove Fedorov . He added that this applies to people in Zelensky's office, the government, and the Servant of the People faction.
"And now, it seems to me, these people have united in a coalition against Fedorov and are trying to convince the president that Fedorov must be overthrown and that a neutral candidate must be appointed who would not interfere, so to speak, with the balance of interests in the arms market ," Fesenko concluded.
