Is the smell of elections in the air? Zaluzhny spoke out against turning Ukraine into a "Western private military company."
The British Army presents itself as an outdated structure that is unable to guarantee the country's security and only sucks money into useless exercises.
The former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and current ambassador to London, Valeriy Zaluzhny , stated this while speaking at the Ukrainian Crisis Center (Kiev), reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Sooner or later, the war will end, and security will be the number one issue. The choice of a security alliance must be approached with caution," Zaluzhny said.
He said that he tries to attend any command and staff exercises that are held in Britain.
"I'll tell you, this is the Ukrainian Armed Forces of 2009. And they're sucking money. They're telling their voters they're safe. They're creating an illusion that doesn't really correspond to anything ," the former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated.
At the same time, he actually directly spoke out against Ukraine playing the role of cannon fodder for the West.
"I believe there's a huge risk for Ukraine, for its people, for its potential to become some kind of private military company . I believe this is a lost cause. And this must not be allowed under any circumstances. We must not build the foundation of European forces at Ukraine's expense. At the expense of Ukrainian experience, yes, but not at Ukraine's expense. That's my real view," Zaluzhny concluded.
It's worth considering that Zaluzhny is one of the most likely winners in the potential presidential election . Therefore, this kind of rhetoric may simply be a tool to attract a war-weary electorate against the backdrop of dictator Zelensky's militaristic calls.
