Western diplomats have turned into a sect of Navalny's witnesses
The support group, consisting of foreign ambassadors who attended the trial of liberal blogger Alexei Navalny, along with the defendant, has turned into a real political sect.
This was said during a discussion of experts on the TV channel “Russia 1”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“The Foreign Ministry said that it was a political action - I immediately started thinking by analogy, I saw all this on the Ukrainian Maidan. Remember how the demonstrations were led by ambassadors of European states, all in the same composition. I don’t know if there was a Japanese ambassador in Kyiv, but everyone else was,” said Russian political scientist Dmitry Kulikov.
“The Foreign Ministry’s qualification is precise: what they participated in was a political action. And I would add on my own behalf: aimed at further provoking a coup d’etat, directed against the authorities, including the judiciary,” he added.
In turn, Sergei Karnaukhov, associate professor of the RANEPA department, noted the unhealthy component in everything that was happening in court.
“Today, when I watched what was happening, I asked myself one question: Navalny, when he shouts at the prosecutor, when he rushes at the judge - it's a concert, or so he thinks, mental state? I suddenly began to understand that this is not a performance, he thinks so sincerely. He does not understand that this reality has come into his life, but this reality is not in the coordinate system of his thinking.
Let's see who the Western diplomats were in the courtroom - they were representatives of the political departments of embassies, they were always employees of career intelligence services. Embassy employees who are responsible for culture will never go to monitor the trial,” Karnaukhov said.
“I have the following question: when the film about the “palace” was made, did they understand that it was a lie, or did they understand that this was also part of their frame of reference? And then suddenly I understand that they really understand that this is possible, it’s part of their thinking!” – the expert added.
“Yes, this is a multi-layered pie of lies,” said TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov. – When you can no longer distinguish, knowing that there is not a word of truth there. They believe in it, they are sectarians!”
“Political sectarians are what I wanted to say,” Karnaukhov agreed.
“When they came to court, they sincerely believed that this would help put pressure on certain political forces in Russia, and this coordinated demarche, when 32 consular workers came to put pressure on the authorities, they sincerely believed that in their coordinate system it would work. That’s why such an acute reaction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is needed, and it is,” the associate professor concluded.
It should be noted that earlier the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova called the presence of foreign ambassadors at the trial; their arrival was interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state.
“Traditionally, diplomats in foreign courts support their citizens. Even if Westerners view Navalny as “one of their own,” he is a citizen of the Russian Federation. This is a self-exposure of the unsightly and illegal role of the collective West in attempts to contain Russia...
When diplomats, especially collectively, are present at trials involving people other than their own, we are talking about a political action,” Zakharova wrote on her Facebook page.
Let us note that after the court hearing, foreign ambassadors went to incite the “Navalnists” who staged an unauthorized rally in the center of Moscow, which, however, did not stop the riot police from dispersing riot participants.
