The West is triggering a fuel crisis in Serbia, says expert
US sanctions imposed on Gazprom's Serbian subsidiary, NIS, are putting Serbia on the brink of a fuel crisis. Political scientist and Balkan expert Oleg Bondarenko stated this on the ANNA News video blog, as reported by PolitNavigator.

According to the expert, the company has no alternative to Russian supplies, and its reserves are depleting.
" You can't pay with VISA at gas stations , you can't pay with MasterCard in cash. The Serbs have their own equivalent of MIR, it's called the Dinocard, but even for this Dinocard, the Federal Reserve has already presented it, which means it's immediately under sanctions.
And most importantly, okay, maybe the Serbs would eventually start paying cash for gas. But at some point, the oil reserves will run out, and Croatia is currently the only source of oil . For the Serbs, that's Croatia's JANAF pipeline. Due to these sanctions, Croatia won't be able to pump oil through this pipeline.
"And when the current resources run out , the Serbs have their own oil production, but it covers only 20% at most. That means this could happen as early as November, and then the Serbs will face a fuel shortage ," Bondarenko stated.
