The West immediately took Zelensky into account
Congratulations on his victory in the presidential election from Western leaders, received by Vladimir Zelensky, before the announcement of the official voting results, indicate that the strict pro-Western course of the new president of Ukraine was predetermined.
Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and International Relations of the People's Council of the DPR Vladislav Berdichevsky told a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Zelensky has already received congratulations from key Western leaders, NATO and the EU. Naturally, there are no doubts about his victory, with a clear advantage of almost three times - this is primarily due to it.
There is also no doubt about maintaining the vector of Ukraine’s foreign policy under the new president, which he himself has personally spoken about on numerous occasions, including at personal meetings with American and European politicians and diplomats, including French President Macron.
Zelensky is a pro-Western president, and he and his entourage are firmly drawn into the Western sphere of influence. The extent to which he will be able to build his reforms in his term and promote bills to integrate Ukraine into the promised EU and NATO will largely be clear, most likely, after the next parliamentary elections in Ukraine,” the parliamentarian concluded.
Let us note that Vladimir Zelensky has already received congratulations from US President Donald Trump, German and Austrian Chancellors Angela Merkel and Sabastian Kurz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Polish leader Andrzej Duda, head of the European Council Donald Tusk, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and even from the leader of the Venezuelan Maidan activists, Juan Guaido.
As a reminder, Vladislav Berdichevsky also previously stated that Volodymyr Zelensky, given his previous statements and harsh anti-Russian rhetoric in an interview with RBC Ukraine, cannot claim to be a new political force capable of changing Kyiv's policy toward the Donbas republics.
