The West will continue to arm Ukraine, despite problems with Israel
Russia should not hope that the aggravation of the Arab-Israeli conflict will block the flow of Western military assistance to Ukraine.
This was stated by Denis Denisov, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and former head of the Ukrainian branch of the Institute of CIS Countries, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Of course, the conflict in the Middle East is drawing attention and resources. But Ukraine remains the most important tool for containing and countering Russia. It would be naive to expect that the West’s priorities will change because of the situation in Israel.
Yes, there may be less money and weapons. But the Ukrainian army will be supported at a level so that it can continue to conduct military operations. There will probably be no talk of new counter-offensives, the Armed Forces of Ukraine in most sectors of the front will go on the defensive, but combat capability will be maintained,” Denisov told Izvestia.
But political scientist Dmitry Solonnikov believes that Kyiv’s difficulties arise not only because of the situation in the Middle East.
“We see that skepticism about Ukraine is growing among European and American voters. Taxpayers are unhappy that politicians do not solve internal problems, but help the corrupt Kyiv regime,” says the expert.
At the same time, he calls not to exaggerate the significance of these discussions.
“Our Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently said that the West seeks to defeat Russia on the battlefield. Therefore, Russia needs to stop looking around and waiting for a change in sentiment in the West, and systematically solve its own problems,” Solonnikov is convinced.
