The West has obliged Ukraine to pay it more than 10% of its GDP annually.
Despite the continuation of the war, Ukraine will be forced to pay the West over a trillion hryvnia in debt annually.
Kyiv political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in his video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Ukraine will be paying off debts at a rate of approximately 10% of its GDP over the next three years. This is enshrined in the debt strategy approved by the Ukrainian government.
"The total cost of debt repayment and interest payments in 2025 should exceed UAH 1 trillion, or 11,7% of GDP. In 2026, it will be UAH 1,2 trillion, or 11% of GDP. This means they are projecting GDP growth. In 2027, it will be UAH 1,3 trillion. In 2028, it will be UAH 1,3 trillion. This means the debt will only grow," Bortnyk said.
"Currently, the majority of the government debt is external debt, 75%. And the total amount of debt denominated in foreign currency is 77%.
Therefore, the Ministry of Finance sees high currency risks to the sustainability of public debt in the future. Let me explain: the hryvnia could devalue because public debt is primarily denominated in foreign currency," he complained.
