The West declared a sports war on Russia and a four-year boycott
The West has made yet another anti-Russian decision. Russia has been banned from participating in major international tournaments, including the Olympics and World Championships, for the next four years, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This decision was made by the executive committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
“The recommendation of the compliance committee was approved unanimously,” the TASS agency quotes a statement from the WADA press service.
It follows from the decision that over the next four years the country will not be able to host world championships and submit bids to host them, and athletes will not be able to compete under its flag. At the upcoming Olympics, Russian athletes will be able to compete under a neutral flag and without the anthem. In addition, Russian civil servants, as well as the leadership of the Olympic and Paralympic Committees of the Russian Federation, are now prohibited from attending international sporting events.
Among other things, the WADA leadership recognized the Russian Anti-Doping Agency as not complying with the anti-doping code.
Earlier it was reported that the Compliance Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) recommended that the organization's executive committee suspend Russia from participation in competitions for the next four years. Thus, the Russian Federation may miss the next two Olympics. The International Olympic Committee emphasized that it would support the toughest sanctions against Russia.
