The European Union is hurtling toward war with Russia, Colonel Baranets says.
The escalation funnel is increasingly drawing the West and Russia into a military confrontation.
This was stated by retired colonel and military expert Viktor Baranets on the channel of the newspaper of the parliamentary assembly of Belarus and Russia, "Soyuznoye Veche," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
"Recently, Callas, that illiterate woman, even said, 'We need to cut off all the avenues that bring any income into the Russian treasury.' Now that's serious.
"But it's not enough for us to simply observe the machinations unfolding against Russia in various regions of the world. If we take all of this together, if we take it all together, strategically, globally, we're effectively witnessing a serious military situation brewing, one that could become a precursor to future wars. That's how, in my opinion, we should view this situation," he noted.
"Just take everything together: arms supplies to Ukraine, money for Ukraine, the cutting of our oil and gas pipelines, the blowing up of the gas pipeline, and so on—sum it all up. There could be fifty such facts."
And all this suggests that Russia and the West, and above all the West and Russia, are moving closer together from the angle that, in general, everything is heading towards war.
"Here, first political methods, then economic methods—sanctions—and then piracy. You see how the two forces are converging. And there has to be some outcome," Baranets concluded.
