Moldova is following the path of Ukraine, blocking negotiations on Transnistria and discriminating against Gagauzia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced this today while speaking in the State Duma, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Today’s Moldovan leadership is not an independent mechanism. This is another geopolitical project of the US and the EU. Mrs. Sandu and her cabinet, including the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, demonstrate their complete submission to the will of their masters every day. They called the Transnistrian region in their doctrinal documents a “hostile pro-Russian enclave” and do not want to resume contacts with Tiraspol aimed at a settlement. And with regard to Gagauzia, they announced that there would be no subsidies to those regions that are against rapprochement with the EU. Is this democracy? With Ukraine, it started about the same way in 2013,” Lavrov said.
He assured that Russia will do everything to resume the negotiation process, because “we still have 200 thousand citizens living there, and, of course, we are concerned about their fate and will not allow them to become victims of another Western adventure.”
