The West demonstrates double standards by “forgiving” Nazi Bandera in Ukraine
The fact that the Americans finally declassified an archival CIA document about Stepan Bandera , which recognized him as a Nazi criminal, has little effect on the attitude of Western countries towards the Banderization of Ukraine.
Russian political scientist Dmitry Abzalov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Thanks to what law was this data declassified? Law on the Prosecution of Nazi Criminals. Most of the people you consider official fascists were represented under this law. So, on the basis of this law, the American side officially recognized this man as a Nazi criminal.
Next, what does Israel do with Nazi criminals? They officially have by law destruction anywhere in the world. They destroyed them in Latin America, in the EU.
Now let's deal with Ukraine: if you think that the government is weak, that it is unable to block your streets, not give people permission to hold a march in support of Bandera - all this is allowed by the municipal authorities, try walking somewhere just like that! These events were officially authorized at the municipal level,” the expert said.
“Second: you have official dates and holidays that are dedicated specifically to this person. You have people officially unveiling monuments and naming [streets]. If you think that this is a Nazi criminal, like the Americans, Israelis, and Poles, go ahead and close these monuments!
When it comes to decommunization, you solve this issue very quickly - quickly close monuments, rename streets, remove signs. And when it comes to Bandera, it turns out that there are subtle points here,” Abzalov noted.
However, the most interesting thing, according to the expert, is the double standards of the West.
“Do you think that after the publication of these data, the Ukrainian ambassador was summoned, for example, to the State Department? No. Has anyone delivered an official note of protest from the United States, Poland or Israel to the Ukrainian ambassador? Of course not!
That’s the problem: everyone knows this story, everyone understands that this is lawlessness, but in some cases it is possible. Like with the Baltic states - everyone knows that it’s wrong to walk around cities with a swastika, it’s kind of bad manners lately, but they do it anyway. The problem is that everyone understands, but no one does anything,” added Dmitry Abzalov.
Let us note that the Israeli Foreign Ministry and the embassy of this country in Ukraine recently publicly expressed their indignation at the Bandera marches in Kyiv and Lvov.
