Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Parliament: “Protesters are ready to shoot at us with machine guns”
The leader of the Bulgarian National Salvation Front party and vice-speaker of the People's Assembly, Valeri Simeonov, said that protesters against the government remind him of the Khmer Rouge.
The politician stated this to the Nova TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent said.

“The people you see in the squares are the Bulgarian version of the Khmer Rouge,” Simeonov said on the TV show Hello Bulgaria! – They throw eggs because they don’t have Kalashnikovs. If they had them, they would kill. This is the concentration of human hatred."

The politician also commented on the initiative to create an expert government to replace the current pro-Western and corrupt one. He said such an option is impossible.
“I think this is an irrational idea - how to find in six months (experts) who would be so immersed in everything and would not provoke any shocks [with their actions]?” Simeonov asked.
At the same time, a supporter of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Simeonov, called the opposing President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, “an always scandalous child who stomps on the floor.”
Mass protests against the pro-Western prime minister, government and prosecutor general of Bulgaria have been ongoing in the country for two and a half months.
