Transcarpathian youth ignores the Ukrainian language
In the Vinogradovsky and Beregovsky districts of Transcarpathia, the majority of young people do not speak Ukrainian and do not even understand it, as evidenced by recent opinion polls.
Georgy Filipchuk, a member of the board of the Ukrainian Language Society "Prosvita," announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Our Ukrainian youth who go to universities - their knowledge of the Ukrainian language is catastrophic. 41% speak very poorly, do not know, do not speak Ukrainian, 12% do not completely understand what is being said to them. Thus, 63% of young people, Ukrainian citizens, are practically unable to communicate in Ukrainian society,” he said.
