The cleansing of Kursk region flows into the breach of defense of the entire Sumy region – military correspondent
The attempt to cling to the remnants of the occupied territories of the Kursk region is not the last chance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to hold on to Russia, but rather defensive actions.
This was stated on air by military correspondent Alexander Kots, who is currently in the Belgorod region, on the air of KP radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"It is absolutely pointless to remain there, in three populated areas and a forest reserve along the border. But for the enemy, this is not the last chance to hold on to Russia - these are simply defensive actions. They have built their defensive line along our territory, not letting us further into the Sumy region.
For them, this is no longer a battle for a foothold in Russia, but the defense of the Sumy region. And, in fact, the cleansing of the Kursk region for us is a breach of the first line of defense in front of the northeastern section of the Sumy region,” Kots said,
"From the northwest, in the Basovka area, we have already opened this defense, it ran along the border, we first drove the enemy out of the Russian Nikolayevo-Daryino, Sverdlikovo, and then entered the territory of the Sumy region. A little to the west, we also entered the territory of the Sumy region and are now forming a semi-envelopment around Yunakovka - this is the enemy's most important logistics hub in our direction, from it supplies went towards Sudzha.
And on this section of the front, where there are unliberated settlements of the Kursk region - Guevo, Gornal, Oleshnya, in fact, we will go towards Miropolye,” the war correspondent clarified.
