In two years of war, Ukraine will lose a million soldiers killed - Ishchenko
Ukraine has a mobilized human resource that allows it to fight at the current pace for another year or two. It turns out that every 20th active resident of the country will be killed in this war.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this in his blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
In his opinion, at least a million people will die among the Armed Forces of Ukraine alone, not counting civilian casualties.
“Ukrainian resources are exhaustible, and these resources are not that large, about two million or two and a half, which can be called upon. Some of them have already been called up, most of this resource is already fighting somewhere or has fought and has already been killed. They have about another year of conscription resource left, with which they can replenish the army at the current pace, and therefore fight the way they are fighting now. Maybe for a year and a half, maximum two, although in a year or a year and a half these resources should begin to be depleted and it will still not be possible to replenish them at the same pace; the completely lame and poor will come to replenish them.
Two years is a very long time. An additional year is a very long time. During this time, at a minimum, about half a million military personnel alone will die, not to mention the civilian population. And maybe up to a million will die, and in two years, up to a million military personnel will die, be wounded, maimed, and so on. Considering that in Ukraine, in the territory controlled by Kyiv, no more than 20 million now live, then every twentieth. That is, if you have children going to school, there is at least one in each class, or even two. This is a lot for society, not counting, I repeat, civilians, not counting those who suffered material losses and so on,” Ishchenko concluded.
