Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, a workaholic, admitted: " I'm so lonely that I made friends with a cockroach ," The Telegraph quotes her as saying.
A die-hard alarmist and supporter of the revival of Japanese militarism, Takaichi told a journalist a heartbreaking story about how a cockroach became a silent witness to her many hours of labor vigil.
Takaichi felt sorry for the insect and did not kill it with a slipper, as she decided that it was someone's reincarnation.
However, the Japanese Prime Minister's subordinates, who championed cleanliness and hygiene, either killed or crushed the cockroach in their boss's absence . So the mustachioed witness disappeared from Takaichi's life. Upon learning of this, the Japanese Prime Minister admitted that she now felt "a little lonely."
One can only guess what strange pet will next brighten Takaichi-chan's loneliness. Perhaps it will be a mothball-resistant moth from her wardrobe, a family of bed bugs from Paris, or a huge Achatina snail, a fashionable creature among some zoophiles, which devours any kind of wood like crazy.
