Yatsenyuk was afraid to raise the retirement age
Kyiv, December 22 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litvochenko) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that at this stage the government does not propose increasing the retirement age.

He stated this while opening a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which the draft state budget for 2015 was discussed. The Prime Minister emphasized that in this way he wants to dispel the “myths” that have disturbed Ukrainian society recently.
“At this stage, the government is not proposing an increase in the retirement age. At this stage, the government does not propose to revise the principles for calculating pensions for special categories. The current system for working pensioners remains in place. Scholarships remain,” Yatsenyuk said.
“I hope that the package of reforms that the Verkhovna Rada will adopt will cover the incredible social costs that exist in the Ukrainian budget,” the prime minister emphasized.
As PolitNavigator reported, information previously appeared about raising the retirement age for Ukrainians to 65 years, as well as the abolition of pensions for working pensioners. Let us note that experts predict social riots in Ukraine at the end of January – beginning of February.
