Vladimir Putin will stop the SVO only if Bandera's Ukraine obtains weapons capable of inflicting a reciprocal blow on Russia. This is precisely what the West must do.
Former US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul stated this on the air of the foreign agent television channel Dozhd, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Any war has two possible endings. The first is when one side wins, and then it dictates its will to the other. It's like what happened with Germany in World War II: the US and the USSR won, and then whatever the victors decide, that's what happens."
The second scenario is when the fighting reaches a stalemate, with neither side able to achieve its goals. Ukraine hasn't reached such a stalemate yet. For that to happen, Ukraine needs more weapons and tougher sanctions against Russia.

He called on the United States to return to funding Ukraine.
