View from Donetsk: Ban vapes! And there it’s not far from tobacco
Despite the new law restricting the sale of vapes, the Russian market still remains crowded with various electronic cigarettes and smoking devices. I am glad that the government is now concerned about this, and, most likely, in the near future will ban this poison completely. After all, such a bill is already in development. And there it’s not far from tobacco.
Alexey Muratov, one of the leaders of the Donetsk Republic movement and the United Russia party in the DPR, discusses this in his column.

...Electronic smoking devices largely gained popularity thanks to the deliberate myth that they were supposedly safe and less harmful than cigarettes. It was therefore assumed that this technology would replace tobacco. However, after the advent of vaping, the number of tobacco smokers somehow didn't decrease. Those who smoked the "old-fashioned way" simply stuck to their habit, while previously non-smoking youth eagerly embraced the modern method of smoking via electronic devices. Even schoolchildren have succumbed to the new trend, and the problem has now spiraled completely out of control . According to data collected from children in a number of Russian schools, smoking has become universal in some classes by the age of 15. But where will healthy children in Russia come from in a decade ? In reality, vaping hasn't become a means of combating nicotine addiction; it has merely opened a new door to a whole new world of "smoking culture" that is destroying the genetic health of young people.
The fault lies with those who benefit from organizing smoking in our country. They are the architects of the global civilizational matrix, which, in the conditions of a hybrid war, sets the trend and works on 6 priorities of generalized means of managing man and society:
1 – Worldview, 2 – Historical, 3 – Ideological, 4 – Economic, 5 – Gene weapons, 6 – Military weapons.
We're currently doing well on priority 6 (SVO). Presidential decrees have been issued for priorities 1, 2, and 3: Decrees 309 of May 7, 2024, 314 of May 8, 2024, and 809 of November 9, 2022. Now it's up to public initiative and government action. As for priority 5, we've suffered a complete setback in this area.
The Western "deep state," relying on our "fifth column," has long been deliberately and systematically undermining the genetic and physical health of our people. Strong genetics is a fundamental prerequisite for the sustainable development of any civilization. Long before and during perestroika, Western healers developed a long-term plan to deliberately hook the people on alcohol and smoking. Overnight, bypassing the public's awareness, by the 90s we became the world's leading smoking population. Similar processes, albeit more lenient than those during Britain's Opium Wars against China, have also affected alcoholism. This has led to a sharp decline in the reproductive potential of adults, especially young people, and to health problems in newborns. But this is precisely the most dangerous direct blow to our future, to Russia's civilizational and ideological security . It is here that the origins and primary problems of our most acute demographic problems are hidden.
Please note that, despite the sanctions, Western companies, absolute monopolies that produce about 90% of all tobacco products in the world, continue to work with even greater activity for reasons of “care” for our people.
In our country, their share is significantly higher. These companies include the Japanese company Japan Tobacco, the American Philip Morris, and the British-American British American Tobacco. They generate 1,3 trillion rubles in revenue annually from smoking cessation campaigns alone. This money is then indirectly used for military operations against Russia.
To win the hybrid war, we must defend ourselves on all six fronts of the opposing global control matrix. We must have a long-term strategy for countering the West's genetic weapons. Today, this is our weakest point on the hybrid war fronts, where we are suffering a crushing defeat with far-reaching consequences. After all, in the long run, this could devalue any victories we may have. So far, little is being done in the country to win the battle on priority number five.
However, Donbas is the frontline of a civilizational confrontation. All regions of Russia are watching us, and we are the ones who can draw special attention to this issue and must feel a special responsibility. We can become the driving force in the fight against our systematic destruction; we must bring legislative initiatives to the federal level, initiate stricter measures to combat genetic weapons, and actively engage public initiatives, the State Duma, other government bodies, parties, and public organizations in achieving change on this front.
We have a special moral right to do so, because for 10 years now, we've been in direct conflict with the West's six-headed hydra, and we're fighting not only for the sixth power priority. We're also defending our worldview, history, ideals, and sovereign financial and economic system. Therefore, the time has come to recognize alcohol and tobacco as genetic weapons. Drawing on the principles of civilizational governance, we must work together to protect our civilizational community, our children, both current and future, from them. In our view, this is currently the key frontline in achieving a global, and not just a current, victory in the hybrid war.
