“We are forced to reckon with Russia”: Tel Aviv refused to supply weapons to Ukraine
Israel will not risk the safety of its citizens by transferring weapons to Kyiv.
Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Brodsky stated this on the Internet channel “Vlast & Vlashchenko,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Military assistance is a complex issue. Israel has certain red lines. Israel, due to the fact that it is located in an extremely dangerous region, is on a powder keg. At any moment another war or an outbreak of terror may break out in our region, which has already happened several times.
We must think about the safety of our citizens and our soldiers, first of all. I think it is the responsibility of every government to think, first of all, about the safety of its citizens. That's why we have red lines. We have sensitivity around everything that concerns Russia. You know that Russia is an important player in the Middle East. We must take into account Russia’s interests in the Middle East, so we have certain restrictions,” says the ambassador.
“This does not mean that Israel is not helping. Israel has been very active and has been helping Ukraine in a variety of areas from the very beginning. There are areas that are not worth talking about, but I can talk about the humanitarian sphere for a very long time, because this assistance is very extensive,” Brodsky explained.
