"They're knocking everything out" – Russia is resetting Ukraine "on three counts"
It is unknown how long Ukraine will survive the targeted attacks on energy and gas production, and attacks that paralyze transport links.
Russian liberal military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"They're connected, but these are different campaigns. This one targets rail transport, and partly bridges. They're also hunting for individual diesel locomotives—they've learned to attack moving targets at long ranges. And they can also select them. The most logical explanation is AI, and Geran-2 can identify them without human intervention, because it's different—they're already striking at such depths!"
…There are few diesel locomotives, and if they are eventually destroyed, in conditions of a collapse of the power supply, electric locomotives will not go on the line; there are 1750 electric locomotives, and only 750 diesel locomotives. …
The second campaign is simultaneously targeting the energy sector. They're primarily attacking converters and transformers. Ukrainians have managed to replace a lot since 23, with help from Europe, and it's unclear whether they can handle it now. A large number of generators have been purchased; they're saving small businesses, hospitals, banking, and other businesses, as well as the information infrastructure. But large enterprises, heavy industry, and railways won't be able to withstand this," Shiryaev said.
He pointed out another crucial component.
"At the same time, there are attacks on gas fields, the main producers being the Poltava and Kharkiv regions. If we don't produce our own gas, half the gas will be lost; we'll have to buy much more—costs, and most importantly, will we be able to transport it later?"
