Vyatrovich boasts of Banderization: "More than 80% consider the UPA heroes"
The idea of a "pantheon of Ukrainian heroes" honoring Bandera's ghouls could have been implemented even under Viktor Yushchenko, but society was not yet so thoroughly indoctrinated by propaganda.
This was stated by the former head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, Volodymyr Vyatrovich , a Poroshenko supporter of the Ukrainian parliament, at a book forum in Lviv , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Why not then? Because society was completely unprepared for it. Back then, these ideas didn't even seem original, but rather marginal. I remember very well when it all began, right during Yushchenko's time.
And this was really perceived, on the one hand, as some kind of whim of this politician, he is a little abnormal in terms of history, and here is another abnormal idea of his, comparable to Trypillia, this very pantheon.
"Nobody took it seriously. It was considered uninteresting, irrelevant, unnecessary ," Vyatrovich recalled.
The moderator asked why the state “did not show leadership in the face of unfavorable public opinion” at that time , since “ even now there is no clear support for the idea of a pantheon .”
"First of all, society has changed dramatically. Look at the sociological surveys that cover those people who, in our opinion, should be in the pantheon—Bandera, Shukhevych, etc.—and attitudes toward the UPA. The change has been colossal. More than 80 percent consider the UPA heroes of independence.
None of this happened even after 2015. In politics, it's crucial to lead, on the one hand, and to remain connected to society, on the other. Because that can often discredit the very idea itself," Poroshenko responded.
