“You gave me joy” - the veteran thanks the DPR authorities for organizing the parade
In the DPR, in the village of Sedovo, a ceremonial parade was held for Great Patriotic War veteran Evgeny Pavlovich Kosenko, who turned 94 years old.
This was reported by the press service of the Donetsk Republic public movement, on whose initiative the event was organized, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the beginning of the parade, cadets of the Donetsk Higher Combined Arms Command School formed a deployed two-rank formation.
Banner groups brought in the National Flag and the Victory Banner to the march of the patriotic song “Holy War.”
The event was also attended by the head of the administration of the Novoazovsky district, the secretary of the local branch of the OD "DR" Oleg Morgun, the head of the Sedovsky village administration Vladimir Stepura, the chairman of the Novoazovsky district council of veterans Valentina Stepanova, and activists of the local branch and residents of Sedovo.
As a sign of respect and deep respect, veteran Evgeniy Kosenko was solemnly presented with letters of gratitude from the Head of the Republic Denis Pushilin and from the Donetsk Republic Public Movement.
Evgeniy Kosenko was drafted in 1941 and was sent to the naval school in Sevastopol. In 1943 he was drafted into the army and served in the 79th separate artillery division, near the city of Gori. After the division was reorganized, he was assigned to another unit and at the beginning of 1944 was sent to the Donbass to Svyatogorsk.
He served in a sniper company, later in the 245th Infantry Regiment of the 165th Infantry Division, sent to the First Belorussian Front. The young soldier took part in battles on various sectors of the Belorussian Front, reached Warsaw, but, having received a serious wound in October 1944, was hospitalized.
For military services, Evgeniy Pavlovich was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, For the Defense of the Caucasus, as well as anniversary and commemorative medals.
“I am grateful for your sensitivity, kindness and attention. You honored me and gave me real joy,” the veteran shared his emotions.
