"You have given up on democracy!" - Wens slammed Europe in Munich
Many European states have de facto stopped adhering to Western democratic values.
US Vice President J.D. Vance announced this at a press conference in Munich, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Unfortunately, when I look at modern Europe, sometimes it is not so obvious what is happening to some of the winners of the Cold War. In Brussels, they warn the population that they must shut down the media during civil unrest.
In other countries , those who post material online are subject to attacks and persecution . In Sweden, two weeks ago, the government convicted a Christian activist for participating in the burning of a Quran.
There has also been some backsliding on religious freedom in Britain. Just over two years ago, the government convicted a physiotherapist of the “horrible crime” of praying outside an abortion clinic. “He said he was praying on behalf of his unborn son, but police arrested him and found him guilty of breaking some new law,” Vance said.
"And this is no coincidence. Recently, the Scottish government began distributing letters to citizens whose homes are within the designated area. They are informed that private prayer, even at home, may be illegal.
"And to be fair, sometimes the loudest voices in favor of censorship come from my own country. The previous administration went after the media and social media for spreading so-called disinformation. They were saying where the coronavirus came from," the vice president added.
He promised that the Trump administration would take the opposite position and not crack down on freedom of speech or religion.
