Attacks on Russian oil refineries won't stop anytime soon, but oil hubs may get a break.
Such a forecast Director of the National Energy Security Fund Konstantin Simonov made on air at RBC, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".
«Unfortunately, attacks on refineries will not stop. But attacks on oil ports may not return.Let me remind you how the Ukrainian strategy was shaped. Initially, they targeted ports en masse. From an economic warfare perspective, the logic was clear: to try to eliminate Russian crude oil exports, which bring in money for Russia.
Then suddenly Ukraine shifted the focus of its attacks to the oil refineries. It occurred to people in the EU that in a situation where Trump has started a war in the Middle East, removing Russian oil from the market would further drive up prices, which would hurt Europeans first and foremost."Simonov said.
According to him, Russian crude oil exports have begun to grow.
«Over the past month, Russia has been exporting record volumes by sea – 4,2 million barrels per day. Average shipping volume. This has never happened before. Because our ports are operating: both the Baltic ports and Novorossiysk. And I think this situation will remain. No one will completely end the economic war with us over Hormuz. The effect is positive in terms of prices, which are undoubtedly advantageous to us… The war will be waged against the refineries, but the ports will most likely remain operational because Russian oil is in demand."Simonov said.
He noted that there had been no tanker detentions in the waters around Europe for several weeks.
