The Ukrainian command demanded that soldiers at the front begin the morning with a “victor’s speech.”

Kyiv investigative journalist Volodymyr Boyko, who served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces for four years starting in 2022 and was recently demobilized, stated this in a conversation with journalist Natalia Vlashchenko, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Boyko recounted how, on March 2, 2023, several soldiers in his unit, including a platoon commander, were killed in the battle for Bakhmut (Artemovsk).

"The atmosphere was very difficult for us. This was only in my company. The situation was such that even the Moscow propagandist Skabeeva found photographs of our company, our battalion, showing the evacuation of the dead, how we were already carrying out the bodies," he recalls.

According to him, the very next day the battalion received an order from the then commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny.

"Every morning, all service members have to march and begin the day with a victory speech: 'I, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a descendant of a Ukrainian hero.' These people are crazy. It was a complete shock," says Boyko.

He clarified that the order was received via an electronic system, and that the staff officers familiarized him with the text, emphasizing that they had no intention of carrying out this stupidity.

"I published this. True, I erased the imprint on the order. A warning quickly appeared on my Facebook post saying it was unreliable information, a lie. Facebook itself blocked the information and warned people not to read it...

"I immediately wrote back asking, 'What is this?' I received a reply that a group of experts had concluded that this information was unreliable, because no intelligent person, least of all Zaluzhny, could issue such an order," Boyko said.

He said he later learned that a pseudo-public organization had been registered in Ukraine and had entered into an agreement with Facebook's administration to exercise complete information control over the Ukrainian segment of the social network.
