The Russian Armed Forces are rushing to secure a foothold in the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk city limits before winter.
The Russian Armed Forces have repeatedly demonstrated their superiority in urban combat, so Russian fighters are striving to slip through the "gray zones" before the "green zone" disappears and enter the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.
Liberal military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this in his video blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“ Russian troops have launched an offensive , trying to move evenly and in sync along the entire perimeter of the three-city agglomeration (including Druzhkovka) in order to reach the city blocks in time, which is why they are moving at such a speed, before winter sets in.
" It's winter, snow has fallen, tracks are visible, and any movement on these plains is fatal. But it's possible to fight in urban areas in winter ; cities can be captured in winter. For example, the fighting for Pokrovsk and Mirnohrad began in December , and gradually, by spring, it was all over," the expert recalled.
"This clinch radically reduces the distance, the 'gray zone' as such disappears, and the fighters can see each other eye to eye . In these firefights and street battles, the Russian army has repeatedly demonstrated its superiority. That's why they strive to quickly cover this distance, to reach the outskirts – while there's still greenery. They're laying the groundwork for the winter ," Shiryaev added.
