Russian army units have firmly occupied the heights that dominate the north of Avdeevka and make it possible to cut off the supply of the Ukrainian Armed Forces group.
RT military correspondent Stanislav Obishchenko stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio asked to comment on the situation in the Rabotino-Avdeevsky direction.
“We are completely entrenched on the waste heap. From time to time information spreads that we have been knocked out of the waste heap - no, we have gained a foothold on the waste heap, this is the north of Avdeevka. From there you can safely adjust the fire on Koksokhim.
Now we are gaining a foothold in every position that we have recaptured from the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past two days. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are now heavily shelling their own former positions with artillery. They understand that each position was designed to be fired at from the east. And our task is to strengthen there, regroup, and continue the offensive,” Obishchenko said.
He emphasized that the positions occupied by the Russian army make it possible to cut off the supply to Avdievka.
“At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to make serious diversionary maneuvers; there was an attack on Opytnoye, on Peski. Our guys fought back well. Moreover, these attacks are going through fields that Ukraine itself has mined.
In general, complete control over the waste heap gives us control over the only route along which the Ukrainian Armed Forces replenished supplies in Avdievka,” added the military correspondent.
