Volodymyr Zelensky uses the population of the cities under his control as a human shield and is not shy about cynically stating this.
Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern stated this on the channel of American TV presenter and blogger Andrew Napolitano, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We know why Zelensky does not evacuate civilians from places like Sumy. He said: if there are many civilians in Sumy, then the probability of a missile strike on the city will be less. So let them stay there, I do not want to evacuate them, because they are our defense.
Well, what does that mean? It means that there is some truth in the fact that Russians really do consider Ukrainians, especially those who live in Sumy, to be mostly Russians. Their own, Slavs, whom they do not want to kill,” the American said.
"They don't bomb civilian targets like Israel does, or like we do sometimes. And Zelensky himself admitted that the best way for them is to leave civilians in the city, for God's sake! And then the Russians will be more careful about destroying the city. That says a lot coming from Zelensky himself," McGovern marveled.
