The Russian Armed Forces are pursuing several objectives at once by attacking Ukraine's railway infrastructure, blocking logistics routes for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This was stated by Ukrainian military analyst and former functionary of the neo-Nazi Svoboda party, banned in Russia, Dmitry Snegirev, in a video blog broadcast by former Verkhovna Rada deputy and participant in the punitive operation against the LPR and DPR, Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Lapin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"They're hitting residential infrastructure, triggering internal emigration and evacuation. They're also hitting the railways, making evacuation impossible . This means the population remains in cities with over a million residents. They're also hitting energy facilities and gas distribution substations in these cities, preventing the heating season from continuing. It's impossible to get through the heating season; people have to evacuate, at least to the countryside ."
How will you leave? By rail. What is the purpose of the attacks on the railway? To block the evacuation. So, the railway is blocked, so how will you get out of the city? By road . Ukrainian roads are unable to handle both simultaneous movements. Military convoys are coming from the west, and civilian evacuations are coming from the east . So what are they doing? They're simultaneously blocking both logistical flows ," Snegirev stated.
