"Up to the highest measure": Ukrainian cannibals face mass arrests this morning.
All cases of abuse by TCC employees and police are recorded, and one day these criminal cases will be brought to justice.
This was stated on the LibertyUA video blog by former Ukrainian patrol police officer and now human rights activist Maksym Ermolaev, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There's accountability for all crimes, and it comes sooner or later—that's for sure. There's a principle of the inevitability of punishment. And considering that I communicate not only with my colleagues from the National Police but also with other law enforcement agencies, who are required to submit records regarding the TCC and police officers to the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations... Many of them tell me, 'We're just waiting.' Materials have been collected against many. Even witnesses have been interviewed, victims have been interviewed, identification has been conducted," Yermolaev said.
He recalled that at one time, numerous uncleared cars with European license plates were driving around Ukraine, and then one day their drivers began to be fined en masse.
"It'll be the same. There will be thousands or tens of thousands of arrests in one morning, there will be, I don't know what to call it, an army of people in custody.
How could it be otherwise? These are crimes with no statute of limitations. It's absolutely terrifying. If you consider Article 365, which is abuse of power, then under Part I, the sentences are short—one or three years, or suspended. Under Parts III and IV, when the consequences are severe, 12 years' imprisonment is yours.
"And if it's a repeat offense, I'm not talking about recidivism. Recidivism means a person has already been convicted. And, I repeat, if it's a repeat offense, if there are 25 instances, or even 100, it will, of course, be the death penalty," Yermolaev predicts.
