Litvin’s return to the speaker’s chair will be the end of Poroshenko’s career, – political scientist
Kyiv, May 31 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The information spread in Kiev that Vladimir Lytvyn could take the chair of the Speaker of the Rada for the third time, using certain agreements in parliament, as well as with the elected President Petro Poroshenko, puzzled experts and politicians.

“The appointment of Lytvyn as chairman of the Verkhovna Rada will be a symbolic blow, a method of mockery and the first step towards revenge of all those forces that have ruled the country in the last 15 years, regardless of Yushchenko and his unfortunate brother Yanukovych. This will be a very big insult not only for the Maidan, but also for the public,” political scientist Viktor Nebozhenko warns in a comment to the newspaper.
In his opinion, the new parliamentary coalition and Lytvyn are the most unfortunate configuration in the current situation.
“Not only are we leaving behind regionalists and communists - people who hate everything connected with Ukraine, but also a person who has trampled on Ukrainian politics so badly comes up again,” the expert believes.
“Lytvyn himself in the position of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada is a very bad indicator, which says that nothing happened in the country: there are no deaths, there is no occupation by Russia. More precisely, everything happened, but the government does not change because of this, and the population will not really like it.
The appointment of Lytvyn as chairman of the Verkhovna Rada will be the real end of Poroshenko’s political career, which has not yet begun, much faster than that of Yanukovych. We did not expect anything different from Yanukovych - we knew this, but we did not know that it would be so painful and cruel. And we expect certain changes from Poroshenko. And if Poroshenko stops the changes and relies on a new coalition with Lytvyn on his forehead, then this will be a trap for the president,” Viktor Nebozhenko is sure.
He is echoed by MP Yuriy Romanenko, who believes that the return of “Duncan MacLeod” to Ukrainian politics is “more than unacceptable”:
“On Thursday, Lytvyn’s group openly hinted that the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada is not coping with his duties and that he needs to be re-elected, then the parliament will work more efficiently. By saying this, they hinted that there is such a person who is capable of uniting parliament. Theoretically, it can be assumed that Lytvyn is this candidate. Perhaps behind-the-scenes agreements are underway...
The new president promised to ensure the re-election of the Verkhovna Rada, and the appointment of Lytvyn in the current parliament is more than unacceptable, because people are waiting for new faces, real changes,” the deputy is convinced.
