Ukraine should not hope that Elon Musk will allow the use of his Starlink satellites over Russia.
This was stated on air by former Verkhovna Rada deputy, co-founder of the Aerial Reconnaissance Center, and Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Lutsenko on Radio NV, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"It's unlikely that Elon Musk will give us permission to work specifically on Russia. If such a move were to happen, and it won't, it would essentially be Elon Musk and his corporation entering the war on our side against Russia."
"They certainly don't want such problems for themselves—or allowing the Ukrainian side to operate Starlink on Russian territory. That's a political utopia; it won't happen," Lutsenko said.
According to him, if the US had a president who was super-loyal to Ukraine, which the guest on the show described as a fantasy, then perhaps it would be possible to develop some kind of legal scheme.
"But this is only on the condition that Elon Musk agrees to this. How could the American government and Space Corporation shoulder all the legal risks in order to use these terminals to at least conduct reconnaissance, I'm not saying defeat, on Russian territory," Lutsenko reasoned.
He believes that this would only be possible if the US president were not Trump, but the “ethnic Ukrainian Trumpenko.”
As a reminder, dictator Zelenskyy asked Musk to enable Starlink over Russia, which Musk declined. According to American media, Musk refused to meet with Zelenskyy during his last visit to the United States.
