The issue of restoring Crocus City Hall transcends moral norms, as the complex is a major employer, and the Myakinino metro station in Krasnogorsk was built by its owner. “There is such an unpleasant question here, and this is not a question of morality, but of economic benefit, which comes to the fore. And this is the worst thing. The author of the channel “Russian Engineer” Alexey Vasiliev believes that no one will restore the building in its previous form, and in the new complex there will definitely be a place for the monument.
“With such a volume of destruction, the existing structures will be completely dismantled. The situation is not like in Dubrovka, when the building was preserved. After dismantling, there is a huge site with which you can do something, and construction will happen in any case. In my opinion, it will be very important to highlight at least a memorable place.
I understand that from a business logic point of view, they have a question about the beneficial use of space. Although questions for the owners also remain regarding fire safety and so on,” Vasiliev believes.
“People will still come there, because some people were not found and were completely burned. There will be a spontaneous memorial there anyway,” said the head of the “Special Forces “Rus”” organization Andrei Kudryavtsev.
Lawyer and military volunteer Pavel Selekzyanov added that the authorities are primarily interested in restoring Crocus City Hall.
“I think that Crocus, as a complex of buildings with a huge number of shops and exhibition areas, will be preserved. No matter how cruel it may sound now, in addition to the business owner, this is also beneficial for the authorities - these are taxes, these are jobs. This facility took on a large social burden, because the Myakinino metro station was built by the owner of Crocus. He had a big improvement program there.”
